OZIK Code
Specifications
Matrix OZIK Code shafts are created for players that want OZIK performance with a more traditional, low torque feel. Code-6 uses a built-in Boron “hinge” that helps create greater momentum. Code-7 and Code-8 are built for greater impact stability.
Technology
* Matrix OZIK Code-6, Code-7, and Code-8 combine the new ideas of OZIK with past Matrix technologies like Tip Torsional Resistence. The combination of the two ideologies yields extremely solid, tip-stable designs that retain the smooth OZIK feel. Code-7 and Code-8 mirror each other in design, with only minor differences in launch angle and spin rate (Code-7 being higher in each). Code-6 is unique among the group. In Code-6, designer Daniel You incorporated a 20-inch Boron “hinge” near the upper-mid section of the shaft. The purpose of “the hinge” is to soften the mid section for momentum and allow for a slight “weighting” of the tip section. The resulting Code-6 is a rare light weight shaft that still has head feel.

MFS Series Irons
Specifications
For nearly a decade, the Matrix MFS series have pioneered shaft development. In the pursuit of the “Master Fitting System,” an MFS shaft has been created for nearly every player type and in every possible flex. Explore this series, dial with one of our unmatched eight standard flexes, find your desired weight, and be Master Fit.
Technology
The Matrix MFS series has been upgraded and narrowed over the past decade to offer the optimal choice for many swing types. Each Matrix MFS shaft is inspected and multi-matched for Circum-Flex Integrity [CFI]. Through this 360-degree measuring process, each MFS series shaft is guaranteed to carry its stated flex no matter the shaft alignment. Through Matrix Multi-Matching process, each shaft is tested for proper tip-to-butt section proportionality. No other manufacturer employs this process. The Matrix Multi-Matching and CFI produce the most repeatable, accurate performance in a golf shaft today.
After a decade of advancement and Tour feedback, the Matrix MFS series continues to be an example of how consistent and performance-driven a mid-priced golf shaft should be.

OZIK TP
Specifications
In 2005, the Matrix OZIK TP-7 and TP-7x launched the OZIK phenomenon and became the “the only” $1,000 golf shafts. The OZIK TP-6 followed in 2007 to complete the most advanced, materially-complex shaft franchise ever created. Built for ball speed and sidespin reduction, the limited Matrix OZIK TP-7, TP-7x, and TP-6 will not be produced past February 2008 to make way for a further leap in technology. Look for it in Summer 2008.
Technology
Matrix OZIK TP-7, TP-7x, and TP-6 were born from our desire to bring together the world's finest materials, state-of-the-art design techniques, and obsessive craftsmanship, and to mesh them into “the only one” – the world’s most unique performance shaft.
Each OZIK TP-7 is made with Interply Hybrid Technology. Each piece is made from high modulus carbon graphite base. This base is then wrapped with two full-length layers of 118-thread count Russian Boron at competing angles for impact stability. These metallic layers are covered by one layer of ballistic, photo-sensitive Japanese Zylon for enhanced feel and tensile strength. Each piece is then finished with GMAT, a unique new graphite from the United Kingdom, which serves as a “casing” for consistency and durability. Each of these OZIK shafts is built in the United States using a 12-step, 6-day, 9-person process that insures unmatched symmetry. For 2007, OZIK TP-7 shafts transition away from their initial “soft feel” finish to a high polish navy blue.

OZIK XCON
Specifications
Matrix OZIK XCON (X-Axis Control) shafts are built for high-launch, low-spin ball flights. OZIK XCON 5, 6, 7, and the 8 Hybrid are made purely of carbon graphite and introduce new Matrix technologies DEA, GEF, and AVF. Created as highly efficient delivery systems, XCON designs bring maximum performance in high MOI clubheads and stable feel for all players.
Technology
* Deformation of Energy Analysis: Matrix OZIK XCON introduces golf to our new DEA (Deformation of Energy Analysis) method for evaluating how shaft construction relates to performance. In physics, Power = Torque x Angular Velocity (speed that a mass rotates around an axis – such as in a golf swing). Unfortunately, with most golf shafts, the energy that should be delivered to the clubhead and ball (the mass) is deformed and lost through inefficiencies in the shaft’s design. DEA reveals these energy loss points. When Matrix OZIK XCON shafts are built with minimized or eliminated areas of instability, more energy and power are delivered to the ball and a highly stable impact position is created. More stable contact means more power, more effective MOI, and more spin.
* Gradient Energy Flow tip design: conventional golf shafts experience their greatest amount of energy deformation between the mid and tip sections. This “weakness” will reduce the stability of the clubhead at impact and can accentuate the “sliding” of the clubface across the ball, leading to higher spin rates. By contrast, Matrix OZIK XCON shafts use a direct Gradient Energy Flow. While static measurements like “tip deflection” and “CPM” remain similar to less energy-efficient counterparts, concentrating on more direct energy flow means more energy reaches the clubhead. More stability is created at impact, resulting in higher MOI. Less clubface-to-ball friction results in less backspin — a true high launch, low spin flight can be created.
* Angular Velocity Fulcrum butt design: Much like in a modern archer’s bow, the OZIK XCON seeks to create momentum and angular velocity by using the biggest, strongest portion of the shaft (the butt section) more effectively. Conventional golf shafts do not focus on the butt section to build kinetic energy, preferring instead to allow the shaft’s tip section (the shaft’s smallest, weakest point) to control angular velocity, launch angle, and back spin rates. In Matrix OZIK XCON shafts, using ideas borrowed from archery, energy is built in the butt section and then dynamically released towards the mid section. With this high-energy butt section and gradient energy flow through the tip section, a giant, powerful fulcrum is created, greatly increasing the force that is applied to the clubhead and the golf ball.

Matrix Studio Irons
Specifications
The Matrix Studio has quickly become the go-to shaft of the select group of highly-specialized professional golf club builders. Matrix Studio shafts carry the rare distinction of being a high performance shaft line that is easy to hit. With an unmatched variety of wood-to-hybrid-to-iron weights and ball flights, Studio provides the serious player the chance to fully blend from driver to wedge.
Technology
In the effort to provide a full studio fitting experience, Matrix Studio shafts come in four wood weights: Studio 64, 74, 84, and 94; four iron weights: Studio 64, 74, 84, and 94; and, new for 2008, two hybrid weights: Studio 64 and 84. Each of the Studio weights has a corresponding ball flight. Ball flight lowers as shaft weight gets heavier.
Mix and match weights to blend high launching, lighter weight drivers or long-irons with lower launching, heavier fairway woods or mid-to-short irons or choose one perfect Studio model throughout a woods or iron set-up for uniform, predictable feel.
Each Matrix Studio shaft is tested for Circum-Flex Integrity [CFI], a measure of uniform flex, no matter the shaft alignment. Then through Matrix Multi-Matching process, each shaft is tested for proper tip-to-butt section proportionality. No other manufacturer employs this process. The Matrix Multi-Matching and CFI produce the most repeatable, accurate performance in a golf shaft today.
